Why pdfMB does not ask for a link
A web page cannot download another website for you, and many websites block online converters: when we tested, one large news site sent an online converter a "request blocked" page instead of the article. Your own browser already has the page open, signed in and fully loaded, so it makes the most faithful PDF, and the page never passes through anyone else.
Tips for a better PDF
- Pictures are missing
- Many pages load pictures only when you scroll to them. Scroll slowly to the bottom of the page first, then print.
- Colours and backgrounds
- Backgrounds are left out by default. In the print window, open More settings and turn on Background graphics (in Firefox: Print backgrounds).
- Remove the date and web address
- Turn off Headers and footers in More settings for a clean page.
- Only some pages
- Under Pages, type the page numbers you want, for example 1-3.
- Cleaner articles
- Reader view (Safari, Firefox) or Immersive Reader (Edge) hides menus and ads. Open it first, then print.
- Pages you are signed in to
- Because your own browser makes the PDF, pages that need a login, such as order confirmations, statements or course notes, work too.
Questions
Is the text in the PDF real text?
Yes. Chrome and Edge keep text as text, so you can search and copy it. We checked with Thai news and Wikipedia pages and the Thai text came out correctly.
Does pdfMB see the page?
No. Everything happens in your browser. Nothing from the page is sent to pdfMB.
Does it cost anything?
No. Saving as PDF is built into every modern browser.
The PDF is too big to send
Make it smaller with Compress PDF. That also runs in your browser.
Can I put several saved pages into one file?
Yes. Save each page as a PDF, then join them with Merge PDF.
